DPMNE put up a shit candidate who won't have broad support from the voters. Petrovski will pull away the nationalist voters. Some will boycott.

Congratulations to the first Albanian president.

    It all so predictable.

Their leadership no longer factors in genuine Macedonian patriotism as part of their platform. The fickle morons are in control and the candidate they predetermined is part of their new strategy. Rather than stand up and show some courage and responsibility, they virtue signal and feign nationalism. But their approach is tempered in preparation for the day they get back into power, so they can tell their Eurocratic overlords what good little slaves they've been. I don't believe any of their leaders have any intention of placing the reversal of the recent treachery at the top of their agenda. And that will be demonstrated if their candidate actually wins the presidency.

Let's assume that Siljanovska does become the president. When she is sworn in, does anybody really believe she will reject the appellation of President of Republic of North Macedonia? Based on what she indicated during her speech last night, it's very unlikely. Alternatively, Filip Petrovski, who didn't get enough votes out of spite and because he has called many of them out for being the posers that they are, is much more likely to create a scene by not accepting that appellation. What an interesting event that would turn out to be.

        Opinion piece below.

DPNE are smarter than most give them credit for. They are picking their candidate for the people that matter most. USA and EU.

Ivanov decided to show his face with the new DPNE candidate and the moron who currently runs the party.

There isn't a snowflakes chance in hell at that happening.

Like usual, they will play word gymnastics with topic that all amount to doing nothing. They will say its unconstitutional but will convince people that can be fixed without canceling the deal.

Or they will say how the deal is binding and despite their staunch opposition there is just nothing they can do, boo hoo.

They will talk about finding a solution and opening committees, all while not abandoning EU or NATO accession.

Basically the same shit they have done since the adoption of FYROM. They will keep it and open issue while everything in the country will function as if it is a settled matter. FYROM was "temporary", that every changed anything, the country treated it as if it was always like that and was always going to be like that.

No amount of politics are politicians will ever fix this. Only an overwhelming show of force by the people will. Back to the snow flake analogy.

They'll do what Gruevski suggested in his most recent "new paradigm" article.

Basically keep the Prespa Agreement in place, arguing they want to change it but can't, or it's not the right time, or whatever else, until they're a member of EU and Greece no longer has any leverage over Macedonia.

Until the next carrot comes along.

You're totally right...no fucken chance that this will be contested or torn up...we were recognised as Macedonia by the vast majority of UN members
only for these fuckwits to shit on all of that and accept the greek demand for an erga omnes solution and everything else that they willingly coughed up to the greeks, bulgars and shiptari...so much damage has now been done that there's no coming back from this mess.

Just the name recognition side of things was like starting a marathon race and being in sight of the finish line and all of a sudden the runner stops mid stride and inexplicably decides to walk back to the starting line...

The real fight now begins in the diaspora confronting an emboldened greek enemy that is moving in for the kill...

                    Phoenix,
There's always a way back or a way forward to achieving the Macedonian Cause. In a historical context for the Cause, this is a historical setback. In the present context, this is a catastrophe. But not one that cannot be overcome.

Rogi, believe me, I'm one of the last people to never say never...but this has now become a massive problem that will require generational efforts to overturn and we have extremely poor history in this regard...the entire fyrom journey, almost 30 years of it, was testament to a pathetic inability and desire to change anything once implemented...

                      I hope I'm wrong.

The leaders of the two main governing coalition parties have agreed today in principle on a consensual presidential candidate who will run in the April 21 elections.

“I think that we can agree on a consensual candidate and I’m convinced that the process will be a successful one”, said the social democrat leader Zoran Zaev following the meeting with the head of the Democratic Union for Integration, Ali Ahmeti.

Zaev said that five of the 10 candidates who submitted their applications will be taken into consideration. On 5 March, SDSM will announce the name of the presidential candidate of the governing coalition. The largest opposition party, VMRO-DPMNE, nominated professor Gordana Siljanovska.

Zekiri. That's who I think they'll land on, as an SDSM candidate, who is a vice president of SDSM and is Albanian and will turn 40 (legal minimum age) a month brfore the election.

That's if the rivaling Sekerinska faction can be convinced.
