    The Georgakis Olympios myth decoded

The myth-making list created by some piss-poor minded fools list George Olympio as a "Greek-Macedonian".

    Code:
    http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:T3VJk22gLjUJ:history-of-macedonia.com/wordpress/2008/03/24/list-of-macedonians-in-filike-etairia-during-greek-revolution/+georgakis+olympios+revolutionary&cd=4&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us
    But in reality....:

he was a Vlach. Of course he was a Vlach. What else would he be? "Greek"?

National hostorians of the Balkan States like to point to the Aromanians (Vlachs) as "the best Greeks", "the best Macedonians", "the best Albanians" etc. Their identity, culture and way of life has never been in conflict with the culture of the majority.
    Great piece of text here.
The difference here is that as "the best Macedonians" .... Vlachs have remained Vlachs, whereas when they are the best Greeks or Albanians .... they are now Greeks or Albanians. This is not particularly a bad thing for Greeks or Albanians, but hardly truthful.
