It is going to Greece, Serbia and Bulgaria. It should be given to Macedonia for free so Russia does not have to go around Macedonia.

I don't think Macedonia would need to do much to convince the Russians of their inclusion.

Its going through the black sea and it will come to Macedonia via Bulgaria, it will also go through Serbia and Turkey. Its due to be completed by 2015.

From what i understand the technical side needs to be agreed, otherwise the project has already been signed in St Petersburg (Lenin Grad)

Yes, this was a underwater pipeline project which bypasses Turkey by planting pipelines in Ukraine`s water borders at Blacksea but this project failed because of problems between Ukraine and Russia and also because of high cost.

When Medvedev and Putin came to Turkey 2-3 months ago, they asked from us to allow planting pipelines inside our water borders instead of Ukraine and Romania`s at Blacksea and Turkey agreed. Thats how this project revived again.

Onur, Macedonia is definitely part of the Southern Stream project, this was confirmed by the Gasprom delegation today in Skopje.

Prolet did you forgot to mentioned that:

Foreign Minister Lavrov: Of course, and not only to friends. Taking this opportunity, I urge everyone to pay attention to this paradise and in planning a holiday to keep in mind the city of Ohrid. Macedonia through Gazprom's will enter "Juzen Potok"

Macedonia will be part of Juzen Potok. This was agreed at yesterday's meeting with the head of Gazprom, Alexei Miller and the Macedonian president Ivanov and the vice president of the government Stavreski.

According Stavreski, the government soon will make political decision and than both governments will seal the arrangement. The whole process should be completed in several months.
The plan is to start to work in 2015, and the amount of the investment is 8.6 billion euros. The capacity of “Juzen Potok” is 60 billion cubic meters of gas annually.

In addition, the Macedonian delegation had a meeting with the leadership of Lukoil, and on Saturday, Macedonia will finally sign the contract for the clearing debt with Russia.

Bulgaria is responsible for the delay, or rather the negotiations between Bulgaria and Russia. The politicians here are trying to satisfy both Russia and the US (if that is that even possible), because there's another project like that called Nabuco, which goes through Turkey. Nabuco is supported by the US - South Stream is not. The entry points into Europe of both projects are in Bulgaria, so it's just taking a bit more time to close the deals.

As far as I know, the gas from South Stream is scheduled to start flowing in 2015.

Bulgaria also pissed off Russia big time by refusing to go ahead with the construction of the Belene nuclear plan. Russia was planned to build it, and it actually started doing so, but Bulgaria froze the project and is now thinking of giving it to China. It's all one big mess of political games and of course - lots of money for those with the deep pockets. Who cares about the ordinary folks - just give them more Turkish soapies to wait and keep quiet...

Burgas - Alexandroupoli was cancelled because the people in Bulgaria thought it will have negative effects to the environment and the tourism industry. So there were rallies on the streets and referendums against it and the government was forced to scratch it. I'm sure the Russians didn't liked that.
