New members of this community sign up weekly, but many of these members never post.

There appears to be a problem with activation. When I signed up, I activated the account via the link in the email, but still had no permission to post.

Perhaps the admin people can look into this and resolve this issue.

There is no issue to resolve. A recent administration process is to send a private message to new members when they sign up to confirm their intent, after which their account may be activated. This is done to avoid spammers or racist morons. Some of them don't respond.
