To enquire after the impression behind an idea is the way to remove disputes concerning nature and reality.

In relation to "forced population exchanges" - "All but a very small percentage of the population belong to the Church of Greece".

Nobody likes going back to 1974, but lets do it anyways.
You know the bible i dont need to repeat the name

' The population is about 93 percent Greek and 4 percent Turkish. The remainder of the people consists of Macedonian Slavs, Albanians, Armenians, Bulgarians and Vlachs.'

Nice of them to give some numbers, so we are left with 3% of the population that you have to contend with the Albos, Bulgars, Armenians and Vlachs. This would leave you with a very very small number in the country.

Just out of interest, what do you believe was the Greek component at the turn of last century (1900) ?

100% confused wannabees, still speaking their ethnic languages at home.

No, not many Cretans there at that time if that is what you mean.
Otherwise, define "Makedones" ... I like a laugh.

Cretans and Makedones, eastern Greeks, all of them are Greeks by genus.

I'm referring to King Alexandros, who was a Hellenic king from the Macedonian region.

                              I'm answering Daskalots' enquiry.
Whether its true or not or boring is your problem.
